Our Services

Social Emotional Learning
(SEL) Integration Readiness Assessment

  • An audit of your product/service to map its existing alignment to evidence-based SEL frameworks and identify additional opportunities for SEL skills practice.

  • In a 4-6 week process, Colin will work with you to fully understand your product’s potential to promote SEL that is aligned to research- or evidence-based frameworks (such as the CASEL Five, or state/local standards).

You will be asked to complete an intake questionnaire, participate in two 60-minute kickoff meetings, iteratively give feedback, and answer questions asynchronously.

You'll receive a report with a logic model illustrating how your product supports SEL and recommendations for transforming implicit opportunities into explicit SEL skills practice with your current offerings.

  • The research is clear—SEL promotes positive student outcomes including academic achievement, increased sense of belonging, and positive identity development. Purposefully aligning your product to SEL will position it to seamlessly integrate in a school or district’s existing SEL processes.

Research-Grounded Logic Models and Impact Evaluation

  • A cross-walk of your product with the latest in learning science research. We construct a logic model (or refine an existing one) to explain how and why your product impacts the classroom.

Once the logic model is finalized, if interested, our collaboration can continue by planning research studies. The purpose of these studies would be to validate the logic model and begin building an evidence-base.

  • In a 2-4 week process, Colin will work with you to create a research-grounded logic model. Over this time, you will be asked to complete an intake questionnaire, participate in two 60-minute kickoff meetings, and attend a final presentation.

Once the logic model is finalized, we can discuss continuing our partnership by collaborating on a research study to measure your product’s impact. This process is highly individualized to the client.

  • States, districts, and schools that receive funding through the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) can only use those funds on evidence-based programs and instructional aids. As a result, establishing an evidence base for your product can help you tap into previously inaccessible markets.

A logic model and a simple preliminary study would demonstrate enough evidence to qualify as an ESSA Tier 4 or Tier 3 program. Additionally, a robust logic model can qualify your product for other certifications, such as Digital Promise’s Research-based Design certification.

Custom Reserach Projects

  • A customized research projects to explore unknowns about your product and its users

  • Based on your research question, we will recommend compatible methodologies for you to choose from. This includes interviews, focus groups, continuous improvement survey cycles, diary studies, and more.

After that, it looks a little different in every case! We will analyze the data, reporting learnings through final presentation and accompanying report.

  • The landscape of K12 education is constantly transforming. Educators are your users but can also be your ‘eyes on the ground.’ Educators’ perspectives on your product and the current classroom experience are invaluable feedback for continuous improvement.
